Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) Consulting

It is only when Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are considered together, that real and meaningful impacts emerge. This can only be true when an organization’s branding and communications is representative of DE&I to all stakeholders, internally and externally.

Put simply, diversity refers to how well an organization’s workforce, policies and procedures, programs, and communications reach and include a broad range of people. It includes differences in gender, age, ethnicity, cultures, religion, social status, and disabilities.

Equity is the fair treatment of all people considering their unique circumstances and adjusting treatment to result in equal circumstances or outcomes .

Inclusion refers to how positively stakeholders (employees, clients, your students etc.) learn from and embrace the experiences your/your organisation provides.

What do we mean by DE&I Consulting

We provide DE&I consulting that specifically addresses audits and reviews of how well educators and educational institutions incorporate Diversity, Equity and Inclusivity across online learning material including lecture notes, supporting documents, PowerPoint, and videos. Where applicable, the audit can include brand representation as well.

Following such as audit, Meet Aandi can guide the changes needed to ensure current and future communications are in line with DE&I requirements and standards. This can include options for staff training and accessible re-branding services.

Who does it help?

By ensuring your brand and communications meet DE&I requirements, you are providing for better learning outcomes for everyone. Students and educators who are represented in communications have better opportunities to engage, and can empower those around them to also engage in meaningful ways.

Improving the learning environment for people of all abilities can truly results in a meaningful and positive impact.

What are the legal requirements?

In order to adhere to the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) and WCAG 2.1 compliancy standards, all online communications must meet specific minimum standards.

As a case in point, videos must be remediated to give the viewer access to an audio description version with a few additional features they can access or turn on as needed.
